You've done a fantastic job of articulating so much of what happens in my head on any given day and many of the same experiences I've had over the years. Let's keep making messes.
I'm so glad this mess made sense to someone other than me 😅
At the same time, I hope we can both be gentle with our brains and the inner child who just wants to play.
(Yess, let's keep making messes!!)
Also, I just need you to know your encouraging words through the process have felt like a series of warm hugs. So imagine me sending a big hug your way! 🤗✨️
I love this. The ADHD side of my brain is sooo like this. I totally relate. Executive dysfunction is the worst! Luckily art has enough different things to try to keep me engaged and also doesn't take too much energy.
Glad it resonates! Yessss, executive dysfunction is the pits... ugh 😭
Like staying "focused" is only half (or rather a small percentage) of the battle 🫠
Love the variety that art brings! 😁
Lately I've been trying to give more of my energy to tiny projects (sketches mostly) I know will only take a few hours, so I'm not getting overwhelmed or am less likely to start like 5 different things, and when I finish that piece it gives me that little boost from having a "win".
It also helps to give me a boost if I start to lose interest or joy while working on a bigger thing.

It’s actually been part of a topic that’s been on my mind, so I related BIG TIME. I appreciated your perspective! :)

I always have a couple of paintings on the go so I can switch round. It really helps! Always something different to try ready on standby!
